Artist Statement & Bio

Every so often I see my Latin background influence my work that I am creating. Even when I am not trying to create something is from my past I always tend to create something that has some references to what makes me who I am. Coming from a very large family it has made become some who is very observant in my surroundings and the way people interact with their environment. It has always intrigued me, the way people communicate, the way they move, the food they eat, and the ideas they have towards other humans around them. So, I been trying to focus on that in the work I have been producing.

Lately I have been working on breaking the barriers that people have towards people for the Latin culture and their food. I find it sometimes odd that people form stigmas against foods from the Latin culture without even giving them a try. I want to get people to try them without the stigma that is attached to it, so I have been using that platform to create an experience where the audience is the participate of creating and eating food that they do not know what it is.
